Following an outstanding performance and result away at the league leaders, Town now return home to face a side who have had a decent first season back in the Premier Division.

The Opposition

Following promotion in the summer, Abbey Hey sit a very respectable 15th after a solid season.

In the reverse fixture, Abbey Hey demolished Town 4-1 in Manchester.

Despite the result perhaps not telling the full story, with Town missing a penalty that would've put them two goals ahead.

Regardless, nothing can be taken away from the home sides showing on that day, they're a great side, and their boxing day victory over high-flying Chadderton proves that.

They also managed a 3-3 draw away at Bury with ex-Town midfielder Moses Yoak snatching a 97th minute equaliser.

However, we'll also have to face up to attacking duo Saul Henderson and Joel Ankers.

Henderson, who has 13 goals all season remains their top goalscorer.

Meanwhile Ankers has bagged 10 goals in just 19 games since joining in October from Droylsden.
