Another quick time reverse fixture as Longridge travel to southern Manchester

Match Information

Venue: Park Road Stadium
Date: Saturday 7th October 2023, 3pm kick off
Competition: North West Counties Premier Division
Adults: £6
Concession: £2

The Ridge look to make up for Tuesday's defeat when they travel to Cheadle.

Longridge drew 1-1 with Cheadle just over a week ago with Jordan Lazenbury's late penalty cancelling out Dean Ing's hour mark header from a swift counter attack.

Saturday will be Town's first ever visit to the 2,000 capacity ground.

The Opposition

Our soon to be hosts were promoted from the First Division South last season with a 3-1 win in the playoff final over Sandbach United in front of 1,375 crowd.

Striker Jordan Lazenbury has scored twice more since the draw at the Recycling Lives Ground, solidifying himself at the clubs top goalscorer this season with 8.

A couple of fun facts about the ground we will be travelling to, it was originally constructed as a training ground for Manchester City and was used as training by the Portuguese National Team for the 1966 World Cup.

Cheadle have won twice at home this season and sit 15th in the table, just five points above Longridge. A win would do the club the world of good.

Team News

Longridge are starting to get back some of the players who suffered injuries in the opening matches of the season.

Paul Turner returned to the starting XI for the first time since August and managed a goal in Tuesday's defeat.

Captain Ben Fletcher is back to warming up before matches on the pitch which is a huge development. Conor Linighan is seemingly full fit again after 3 substitute appearances in the last 4 games.

Striker Ben Finley is still aiming to be back in the coming weeks and is recovering well from his ACL injury. Jack Arrowsmith however, is still looking at missing the full season.

Let's end on positive news. Midfielder Luke Smith made the bench on Tuesday after his knee injury kept him out for the past month.
