The Opposition

Founded in 1936, Holker Old Boys were initially an under-16 team for former pupils of the Holker Central Secondary School.

They joined the adult North Western League in 1939 before joining the West Lancs League in 1967 and the rest is history.

They have been part of the North West Counties Football League since 1991 but haven't played Premier Division football since 1999.

However this season they've gone the right way about a return.

The Stags sit 2nd in the First Division after just missing out on a play-off spot last season when they finished 7th.

Holker are the top scorers of the First Division with 40 goals in just 14 games.

Attacker Tom Dawson has played no small part in this rich run of results with 10 goals in as many games.

Joint managers Kevin Watkin and David Round have now led the Stags to six wins a row and will see Tuesday as a great opportunity to test themselves against a team in a higher division.

Town played pre-season matches against Holker and as such are familiar with each other.

The last time this happened was in the summer of 2022, where Longridge ran out 3-1 winners at Rakesmoor Lane.

Team News

New signing Jefferson Goncalves will be looking to make another appearance following his debut on Saturday's defeat at Abbey Hey.
