Following two defeats, eight injuries and one more August game to go, Ashcroft's men look for a return to winning ways.

We are also hoping for a return to action for a couple of the lads.

The Opposition

However, they face another in-form side in Ramsbottom.

The Rams are going the right way about a return to the Northern Premier Division West.

Following a disappointing return to the North West Counties last year, finishing just above Longridge in 18th place, they now sit top of the pile six games in.

Plenty of time to go yet of course but with only one defeat at the hands of old nemesis' Colne they've looked pretty formidable so far, adding a 4-0 demolition of Premier Division newcomers South Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Town managed to get a point out of them last season but with the Rams having kept hold of players like Kuda Chingwaro, Luke Sephton and Harvey Whyte, whilst also having added goalscorers Oumar Camara and Thomas Hoyle to their ranks, making them obviously even stronger.

The Rams are also currently the second highest goalscorers in the division, with 18.

Team News

It is likely that Saturday's game will come a bit soon for Jack Anderton, Owen Watkinson and Ben Fletcher.

Connor Newton is now suspended. The defender was unable to take part against Chadderton following a late hamstring issue.

However Jordan Gidley is hoping to be back involved soon, depending on how his ankle is.

Mitch Marshall is keen to return but is currently still nursing a concussion sustained against Whitley Bay.

Tom McCann and Daniel Wilkinson remain out for the foreseeable future.

However, some good news to report, as Charlie Alston played a full 90 minutes after starting his first game in over two years after recovering from his long term ACL injury.
