The Ridge look to take an incredible midweek away performance into this weekend's game against struggling South Liverpool.

Following a five game winless run, Ashcroft's men returned to winning ways following a 4-1 LFA Cup win over Northern Premier Division West's Clitheroe.

Town will be hoping to take the performance back into the league following a tail off in form.

The Opposition

However, it'll be a tough ask against newly promoted South Liverpool.

Reformed in 1991 after liquidation, the South returned to the North West counties in 2021, 30 years since their pro license was lost.

Last season, they won promotion to the Premier Division following a play-off final victory over Ashton Town.

The South have played the most games so far in the Premier Division with 23 matches played.

They had a solid start to life in the Premier Division after going their first three games unbeaten.

Martin Ryman is the club's manager, and has been since 2001, taking the mantle of second longest serving manager in the North West Counties.

In the reverse fixture and Inglewhite Road, South made Longridge work for a 2-0 win with Jack Anderton and Luke Smith on the scoresheet.

No doubt it'll be another tough game with our soon to be hosts desperate for three points to help push them away from the bottom two.
