Longridge Town ended the season on a high, as they edged victory at home to Prestwich Heys.
It's been a tough season for both teams, but it was Town who came out on top this time.
Due in part to an exceptional goalkeeping performance from Kier Barry.
Jack Arrowsmith started his first game in over two years as he joined up with the attack.
Jenson Carter also started in attack as Peter Critchley returned to the backline.
Matt Van Wyk kicked us off and Kier soon got busy.
His first job was to parry wide after Heys attacker Takura Sambizi had dribbled past the Town defence down the left.
It took another 15 minutes before another moment of note.
Van Wyk raced onto a long ball from the back before lobbing onto the crossbar.
Alfie Belcher than forced Heys a chance of their own again, as he rifled at goal from the edge of the box, only for Barry to tip it wide brilliantly at full stretch.
Belcher came close again moments later, as his 25 yard effort was tipped over the top of the bar by Barry.
Ryan McLean then raced down the left hand side before pulling it back across goal for Arrowsmith, whose first time effort flew just wide of the far post.
Just moments later and Arrowsmith won a corner after his cross was knocked out out play.
McLean's delivery was headed just wide of the goal by Ben Trafford.
Barry then made a big contender for save(s) of the season.
Former Town man Connor Martin powered at goal from close range but the young 'keeper reacted incredible to parry it away.
The striker looked to follow in the rebound but Kier sprang back up to push it away from the corner and out for a corner.
Unbelievable.
Barry then tipped a powerful header over the bar from the resulting corner.
He simply, would not be beaten.
He also tipped a Bardsley-Rowe effort round the post just before half time to keep the game goalless.
Following the Prestwich pressure, Lee Ashcroft reacted accordingly, with a double substitution.
Daniel Cunningham and Jordan Dainty replaced Jenson Carter and Jack Arrowsmith.
The changes combined with the half time talk, seemed to have an effect.
Town began the second half on the front foot, as Atkinson sent a first time effort from just inside the area over the bar.
Critchley then surged forward down the right hand side before sending a great ball over to Liam again but unfortunately he couldn't make proper contact.
It was then McLean's turn to supply the striker, as his inch perfect delivery was nodded just over the bar by Atkinson.
Trafford then looked to clear a loose ball in defence moments later as Heys attacker.
It ricocheted off Martin and flew towards goal, thankfully Barry was on hand to hold it.
However this seemed to be an off moment, as Town attacked again soon after.
Barry set off a counter attack which ended up with McLean's back post delivery being just missed on the volley by Critchley.
All the Longridge pressure would soon pay off.
Van Wyk received it down the right before laying off his strike partner Atkinson, who initial effort crashed back off the inside of the post.
Thankfully, the striker followed it up and headed home the rebound.
The deadlock was now broken just after the hour mark.
Not long after, there was the final Longridge Town changes, as Edmundson and Van Wyk departed for Jacob Bridges and Carson Greaves.
The final attendance of the season was then confirmed as 253.
We can thank you for such remarkable support.
Martin then perhaps got the visitor's best chance of the game.
The attacker capitalised on a slip up at the back before bearing down on goal in a one-on-one.
As you've probably guessed already, Kier Barry made himself big and beat away the effort.
He then made another save just before added time was announced, when it's your day it's your day.
Following the four added minutes, Town saw out the victory, finishing the season on a high.
The boys then received a very well deserved reception off the pitch.
It's been a tough old season, but given injuries and restrictions, it could've been a lot worse.
Plus we've had some incredible moments.
