Ravens Ravage Town

The Isle of Man ran 3-1 winners at Inglewhite Road following a strong first half display.

The search for a Longridge win was extended to six matches.

Despite a bright second half, The Ridge couldn't overturn the deficit conceded to the visitors from the first 45.

There was just one change to the Longridge 11 as Ethan Edmunson made his debut, taking the place of Lewis Richmond.

The suspended Luke Smith missed out.

The game had a fairly scrappy start, with the visitors seeing more of the ball.

The deadlock was broken fairly early on, as Luke Booth found himself in behind very easily, and slid it past Walker.

Town then responded perfectly just minutes later, as Harvey Roberts poked home a Jefferson Goncalves cross to level the scoring.

However, this was just a blip, as the visitors soon took control.

Jacob Crook saw a cross deflect off Mitch Marshall and wide for a corner.

Kyle Watson's delivery was headed goalwards but over by Sean Doyle.

The Raven pressure then paid off, as Doyle cut the defence open with a perfectly weighted pass to Charlie Higgins, who rifled it into the roof of the net.

The visitors then added a third seconds later, as Booth saw his initial effort parried back into his feet by Walker.

The attacker then tucked it home at the second time of asking, sending the tremendous travelling support into raptures.

Town looked for a way back into the game, as Ben Trafford, headed a Roberts corner wide of the target.

At half time, ticket number 6430 won our pound for the ground jackpot of £124.

A huge thanks to everyone who entered.

At the interval, Ashcroft didn't mess about.

He made four changes that saw Charlie Alston, Lewis Richmond, Jack Anderton and Jordan Dainty replace Mitch Marshall, Ryan McLean, Ethan Edmunson and Lucas Wane.

Ben Trafford took the captains armband.

These changes had a good impact, with Town starting brightly.

Liam Atkinson wrongfooted Killey from close range but his effort deflected back off the inside of the post, before Leighton Hewitt shot high and wide from 20 yards.

Jordan Dainty then went for goal with his left from 20 yards but Killey held it well

Booth was close to a treble, as his curling left footed effort deflected just wide of the far post.

The resulting corner was headed at goal but cleared off the line by Anderton.

Doyle was also close to his annual goal against Longridge but Walker did well to tip the fierce effort over well with his fingertips.

Jack Anderton and Charlie Alston both received a booking each for strong tackles.

Lewis Richmond did well to block a Nathan Little effort superbly at the back post.

Goncalves could only head a Roberts free kick over the bar in added time.

Isle of Man almost added a fourth deep into stoppage time, as Dean Pinnington fired a 25 yard free kick over the bar.

Moments later, the full time whistle sounded, sending the Isle of Man up to 4th in the table.

Town slide down to 13th but with a big opportunity Thursday when we travel to Lower Breck.

A big thank you to the 248 who came down today, and safe travels home to the travelling Ravens.

Our next home game is on Saturday 9th November when we host Glossop North End.

Thanks for the brilliant support as always.
