Still only 21 years of age, Gourley is a young defender who can play in the centre or on the right of a backline. Having broke into the AFC Blackpool first team at 16, Cam joined us after two years on the coast. His first spell at the club was relatively short lived as he returned to the coast, this time with Squires Gate. Following a successful spell their, Gourley was picked up by Bamber Bridge FC for the 2021/22 campaign where he also spent time on loan with Colne & Kendal Town.

Having featured in the majority of pre-season Gourley has impressed at the back as a ball playing defender, fitting into Towns style of play effortlessly having has some experience under Ashcroft before. On Cam's return assistant manager Kieran Walmsley added, “Cam was actually with us a few years ago as an 18 year old and we’ve followed his progress since then. He’s filled out and, with the experience he now has of playing non league football, he’s a great signing for us. His distribution is excellent and he can be flexible either at centre back or on the right side of defence. It’s good to have him back and to be able to work with him again.”
